1st Samuel 8

Israel Asks for a King

1 When Samuel grew old, he appointed his sons as judges for Israel. 2 The name of his firstborn was Joel and the name of his second was Abijah, and they served at Beersheba. 3 But his sons did not walk in his ways. They turned aside after dishonest gain and accepted bribes and perverted justice….

    That’s funny.

You know, I do have to say, though … I really don’t.

    Wickle,

I’m with you on not really missing the Bush administration nor some of the negatives that come about from it’s policies. That said, I do wonder if perhaps this is similar to the analogy of boiling a frog, by slowly turning the heat up over an extended time. In this case the US is the frog, and the heat being the degredation(?) of political authority(ies) acting rightfully under the ordained authority of God.

    Just a thought.

Grace and peace be with you Wickle.

I teach a psychology course, and one of the topics is “making comparisons.” I like to use the Bush - Obama example. Because most people couldn’t wait to get rid of Bush. Now there’s a lot who wish he was back. Just goes to show how fickle we can be.

  4. Christopher Says:

    E.B.

Yeah, I think fickle is the case for some however, the grass being greener on the other side of the fence is the thought that came to mind with the graphic. I do hope that no one reads into the posting of that graphic as me making a pro-Bush or anti-Obama statement because that wasn’t the intention.

I found the graphic to be hilarious from the perspective of “Bush” coming back to rub it in “our faces” - as if to say, “See? Things weren’t nearly as bad as you thought. Now how’s that change working out fer ya?” :)

Grace and peace be with you.
