Luke 7:13
13When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, “Don’t cry.”

Nothing deep, nor too contemplative here right?  Just the creator of all, affected by the love for His creation in such a way to want to reach out to it and help.

This happened in a town called Nain, where Luke 7:11 reads; “11Soon afterward, Jesus went to a town called Nain, and his disciples and a large crowd went along with him.”.  Read as  “a  town”, not “the town”; makes it almost sound unimportant, doesn’t it?  Yet in this town of Nain Jesus Christ resurrects the son of this poor grieving woman (widow).

Maybe it was “just” sympathy or maybe of being able to directly relate to the woman’s grief from the perspective of the Father.  Whatever the case may be, there was a connection that moved Christ to act on the woman’s’ behalf; “His heart went out to her”.

Cue up John 3:16

Grace and peace be with you.
