Church Marquee Faux Pas

I’m the guy responsible for posting quotes, upcoming events, etc; to our church marquee. I posted the quote seen in this shot about a week and a half ago.

A week later, while preparing to place a new quote on the marquee I noticed that perhaps the message was a bit out of order (literally). Whadda ya think?

Was I insinuating? “Yea!! Come on in get saved this Sunday… then die right after service!”

I think that maybe I freaked some folks out with this one, that Sunday’s service did seem a bit sparse come to think of it. :)

NOTE TO SELF:
Pay attention to what you put up on the marquee, knucklehead.

Grace and peace be with you.

LOL. It’s a rather heavy-handed way to promote the early service!

    Christopher says:
Hmm, you have a point there, though heavy-handed, it’s with Christian love. ;)
Grace and peace be with you Cathy.

I’m confused…did you actually mean to put that there. If so, you’re crazy. If not, what were you meaning to put up there?

    Christopher says:
Welcome Hope. It’s been a while, I hope that the summer break is going well for you.

An explanation of the marquee boo-boo: At the top of the marquee are the hours for Sunday services, something that is rarely changed or even moved. Since it’s (the hours) pretty much a “static” section, I didn’t think twice to consider how it played into nor along with the wording of the quote that was intentionally placed underneath.

As for being crazy… there just might be a bit of truth to that, regardless of this boo-boo.

Oh yeah, I see that your beloved Red Wings have roughed up the Penguins pretty good, a little solice for The Pistons getting tossed by the Celtics. Ehh (have to say it like a Canadian for the effect to work) :)
Grace and peace be with you.

I know you didn’t mean for this to be funny, but… it is!!! I’m sorry, but I must admit… I’m laughing. This is really one of those that should be sent to Leno - cracks me up!

Do you want to send it, or should I?

    Jen
“don’t beat yourself, you’ll just get a black eye” :)
    Christopher says:
Jen, I’m laughing right along with you, E.Barrett, Cathy and the rest of the blogosphere. If you don’t send it in to Chino err.. Leno, I’m sure someone else will eventually troll around and do so. It’s already out there in cyberspace; there is no “UNDO” button. :)
Hopefully this is the worst thing that I ever do as a Christian.

Grace and peace be with you Jen.

Haha! If this is the worst thing you ever do as a Christian - I christen thee a saint!

    God’s blessings!

LOL, well thank you Ma lady, me thinks our image is more like that of an “AINT” however. ;)
Grace and peace be with you Jen
