Not quite a week ago, I was motivated to consider posting a Q&A session after having visited the Hope Road blog.  Sounded like a great idea to perhaps drum up a little more interaction from some of the drive by readers… assuming that the majority of the 7500 + hits that the WP Dashboard has reported over the last month since being resurrected aren’t (spam) bots.  Not to be confused with Fembots. I’ve been mulling over whether or not to go forward with this idea. After reading a post [see "cheesy" link  ;) ] by newcomer and loyal visitor E. Barrett of R3, I’ve decided to go forward.

As the “About” section explains, Got-Fruit(?) is a journal if you will of what God is doing in this life of mine, despite my backsliding and rejection. That said I often post on those things occurring in my life that I see as moments where God is talking to my heart, trying to move me one step closer in the right direction, be it an attitude adjustment, Scriptural understanding, relational, or what have you.  I’ve already hinted at how I came (returned) to Christ, so this isn’t a Q&A about me.  What I would like to happen is for any and all visitors to share an experience, moment or circumstances that was pivotal in their relationship with Christ.  Maybe it was a close associate that was instrumental or some key Scripture that just spoke to your heart   Here’s the game plan, submit a comment relating to one of the following:

survey_20080502

  • Share the time or events that led to you accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Lord & Savior
  • Share a received word or revelation concerning a spiritual struggle, life decision etc;

The Rules:

1. You do not talk about FIGHT CLUB!
B. Try to keep comments brief by providing a short blurb & a link if possible
C. Practice discretion (protect the names of the innocent)
D. Remain respectful of one another

Looking forward to hearing your stories & experiences.

Grace and peace be with you all.

Yesterday was the National Day of Prayer (1st Thursday of May) and my church appropriately enough coordinated the kickoff of our Prayer Ministry to coincide with NDP.  During the event, one of our elders started the gathering off with prayer, followed by commentary and  some Scripture to reflect & meditate upon.  One of the passages of Scripture that I recall “Charles” reading to the group, comes from the book of Psalm 33 (specifically first half of verse 12):

Psalm 33:12
12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

This is not an argument or opinion to make claim that the Scripture validates that the US is a Godly minded nation nor that it’s being blessed by God (it’s prosperity being the presumed indicator of such blessing).  I “hear” this as “The nation that through it’s ways; acknowledges & follows God is blessed because they have made the righteous decision”.

Grace and peace be with you.
